SUMMARY:World Pharmacy Day
DESCRIPTION:On 25th September 2016\, around 300 participants from different health professions gathered for a one day conference on Pharmaceutical Care\, with the theme : “Pharmacist: Caring for you“. \nThis conference was organised on the occasion of the the world pharmacists day which is celebrated on the 25th September of each year.  World Pharmacist Day is used by pharmacists around the globe to highlight the impact and added value of the pharmacy profession and its role in improving health to authorities\, other professions and the media\, as well as to the general public. \nPharmacist Noel RUTAMBIKA\, the vice-chairperson of the Rwanda National Pharmacy Council during his opening remark said tha \nThis year’s theme was chosen to reflect the important role of pharmacists in providing care to the public\, and also to highlight the emotional connection they have with their patients. The role of pharmacists has evolved from that of a provider of medicines to that of a provider of care. Pharmacists have a vital role in the outcome of pharmacological therapies and ultimately strive to improve patients’ quality of life. \n

And\, most importantly\, interested in connecting with young pharmacists from around the world who are also seeking new networks\, professional innovation\, friendship and support. \nMore on http://fip.org/young_pharmacists_group \nAbout Seun Omobo \nSeun Omobo is a Pharmacist and a public health practitioner with about 6 years experience in various fields of Pharmacy; Hospital\, Community and manufacturing. She now the advisor to the Nigerian Senate committee on pharmaceutical matters and provides top quality technical support to pharmaceutical manufacturers on the WHO Prequalification programme. Her experience in public health includes Pharmacovigilance and post-marketing surveillance of medicines and vaccines. In the above roles\, amongst others\, working in Africa and in Europe\, her work has led to the WHO GMP certification of the first four pharmaceutical manufacturers in Sub-Saharan West Africa with several others in the pipeline. \nShe has played key roles in developing global guidelines used in assessing Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI’s)\,  leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in Nigeria towards the eventual unprecedented pre-qualification of their products. She also worked as the Technical Assistant to the Director -General; National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control(NAFDAC) where she coordinated projects such as the West African Regulatory Harmonization Project\, revamped local production of vaccines\, amongst others. She is currently undergoing post graduate studies in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University\, USA. She also holds her Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University\, Nigeria. \nCome\, Meet & Connect !!!!!
